Todd Farm Flea Market. Asked $30. Bought for $25. Best part is there was 9 pics in its belly just waiting to be fired. I'm ecstatic. Polaroid film too, not Impossible project.

SX-70 new one
Just met with Lew from craigslist and scooped up a SX-70 Sonar OneStep for $60. Included the automatic timer, a flashbar and a great carrying case. Also an unopened pack of Timezero film, which might be useless at this point, but might fetch something on Ebay from a collector.

Crane Estate
The Crane Estate in Ipswich had its annual open house this weekend. It's a pretty magnificient building. We didn't go in this year but the tour we took last year was breath-taking. We just walked around the grounds and brought food for a picnic. Took this next picture on the Polaroid Land 100 on Fujifilm FP-100c film.
I've been thinking of cropping my scans of my polaroid pics. Not sure. I really like having the boarders on them but my fear is it might distract people from the subject of the picture? "Oooh a polaroid." Rather than "Oh, look. A mediocre snapshot of a gigantic house." Then again, if that's the case at least the border is getting it at least some attention.

Stay classy 1%
Flipping through a Playbill for Cats from 1984 (Shubert Theater/Boston) and
came across this tasty little ad for BayBanks. Which I believe turned into Bank Boston before it was swallowed whole by Fleet Bank which was then purchased by Bank of America.
Anyway, this ad makes debt so appealing I almost wish I was drowning in it again.
Not.

Polaroid OneStep SX-70 w/Q-Flash
$20
Flash battery compartment was all sorts of junked up with corrosion, complete with four exploded copper-tops. Cleaned it up as best I could and finally got the flash firing. Cameras internals look very clean. No extra film to find out right now, but my birthday's next month so...

May 4th. Star Wars Day.
While most of you all are celebrating Star Wars Day, I'll be joining George Lucas in what we call "the laughing at everyone else day." It's at the local Denny's. George picks up the bill. I remind him to go easy on the salt.

Impossible and Fujifilm and Minolta
Digging the tones from this Impossible Project film...and the coffee was delicious. Please don't diss on my stove cleaning ability. The previous tenant was an alcoholic...which doesn't effect me at all, but she was also a slob and didn't clean anything. Camera used in this shot was a Polaroid Sun 660.
Still though, I might be buying a Fujifilm Instax 210. The cost per shot is unquestionable more economical, if I'm going to be making a habit of shooting instant.
Also, today I pick-up my shots from my new/old Minolta Hi-Matic C. Their processing machine was broken yesterday, but they let me glance at the negatives and I was so relieved that the camera actually did in fact work. Fingers crossed the pics came out crisp, at least where I wanted things to be crisp, that is.

1939 Camel advertisement
I've been thinking of doing this as a new segment for a while now. Ever since I was a little little kid I've always been fascinated with magazine and TV ads. Obviously billboards fall into this category too, but really it's been Magazine ads that I've always loved. I have a ton of old theater and game programs, and a few old dust up life magazines that I've, for some reason, held onto over the years. And now I'm organizing a way to either sell or just discard them as we declutter our lives up. I decided to start scanning some of the ads and posting them here as a way to hold onto them without actually holding onto them. Hope you folks dig some of them. Also, I in no way endorse half the crap these ads are selling. I just think they're fun.
This Camel ad is from the back cover of a 1939 N.Y. Giants vs Pittsburgh Pirates Football program.

"More pleasure per puff _ More puffs per pack" So catchy, I love it.

Polaroid
So we've been decluttering around the St. Pierre home for a good while now. Part of the process is looking at every single thing we own and deciding whether we want to continue owning it or not. Not so long ago my Wife was accepted in to Art School as a photography major (which changed soon after,) and had amassed quite a collection of vintage cameras. Most I didn't care about and we both never knew if some of them ever worked or not. They just looked cool. Well, of the bunch we had four polaroid cameras. Two of them pack type film cameras and two of them 600 series.
I bought some film from The Impossible Project for the 600 cams. Honestly, haven't gotten a chance to shoot with it yet, but from what I'm seeing on flickr or deviantart.com results vary greatly, and then there's the chance that the person's camera might not be working right, or maybe the film really isn't "there" just yet. [update, as of tonight I just received an email from Impossible, they have a new formula for their instant films now, so perhaps the quality will become more consistent?]
The film for the Polaroid Land Camera is still made and easily available from Fujifilm. For the standard color format the part number is FP100-C. and I'm enjoying the hell out of shooting with it. The cameras I have are a Polaroid 100 and a Polaroid 440.
Here's some samples of the images I'm getting out of these cams.

Small amount of curves adjustment in photoshop on this one
No adjustments at all on this one.
The smiling ear to ear little boy is my kiddo. That's his first ever ice pop so he's awfully excited.
I just received 5 more packs of film (10 shots to a pack) today in the mail and I look forward very much to my new analog hobby.
